The Murdoch Lodge "Ladies Night"
dinner dance was held, as it traditionally is, on the closest Saturday
to Valentines day - the 11th February. It was at the Chateau Impney
Hotel in Droitwich, which has been the regular venue for many years.
Guests gathered in the Elizabethan Suite,
where they were met by the Worshipful Master, Mark Thomas and his lovely
wife Jaishree. After a photograph in front of the lodge banner, the
guests had apperatifs and tried their luck at the tombola, where a huge
variety of prizes were on display, all generously donated by members
and friends of the Lodge.
The guests then made their way to the
tables for a delicious meal, which was followed by a speech from the
Junior Warden welcoming the guests and thanking them for coming. After
the meal, the guests joined in with a game of 'reverse bingo', where
the aim is not to get any numbers at all! The winner donated half of
the £100 prize money to the Charity Collection, which was a wonderful
gesture.
With the formal part of the
evening over, guests danced until midnight to a variety of foot tapping
tunes provided by a live band and singer.
The 150 plus guests had a wonderful
evening, and thanks to their generosity we raised over £1100 pounds
for charity.
